Reciprocity for Texas Adjuster License

Not only is the Texas Insurance Adjuster License valid in Texas, but it’s recognized in most US states. Currently, 15 states do not regulate insurance adjusters, so residents can take the Texas Adjuster course and exam. Texas Adjuster License is reciprocal with CO, KS, MO, OH, SD, VA, WI, IL, IA, NJ, MD, NE, ND, PA and TN.

If an adjuster lives in a non-licensing state, they will apply for a DHS license. States that do not currently license their adjusters are: Colorado, DC, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
